# Changelog, February 2025: a new UI and dark mode

February gave Turbo Start Sanity a new interface, a proper mobile nav, dark mode and canonical URLs. Here is what changed and why it helps.

A starter that looks unfinished gets rebuilt before it gets used. February fixed that with a new UI and the pieces every real site needs anyway.

## A new UI, and a nav that works on phones

The frontend got a full visual refresh. Alongside it came a mobile navbar and a `useIsMobile` hook, followed by a round of navigation fixes. You get a responsive header out of the box instead of bolting one on later.

## Dark mode

Dark mode landed across the site. It is the feature clients ask about in the first demo, so now it is already there.

## SEO basics you should not have to think about

Pages now emit canonical URLs, so duplicate routes stop competing with each other. The default Open Graph image also stopped stretching the homepage logo, which is the kind of bug nobody notices until a link is shared.

## Smaller fixes

- The FAQ accordion block gained a link field.
- `@sanity/block-tools` was swapped for `@portabletext/block-tools`.
- Unused dependencies were removed.
- Facebook and Instagram icons joined the social links.
- The README gained a getting started section.

Ship the boring parts once. Then never think about them again.
