# Changelog, March and April 2026: end-to-end tests

March and April added Playwright smoke tests, an accessible mode toggle, quieter installs and a template validator that works. Here is the summary.

A starter you cannot test is a starter you cannot change. March and April added the safety net.

## Playwright smoke tests

End-to-end smoke tests now run with Playwright. Break a core page and you find out before your users do.

## Accessibility and empty states

The mode toggle was refactored for accessibility, and empty eyebrows no longer render as stray markup above headings.

## Quieter installs

Peer dependency warnings were resolved, generated types were excluded from duplication analysis, and the Sanity template validator was fixed so the starter validates cleanly. The README also got a refresh with a new Open Graph image.

Tests are not a cost. They are permission to change things.
