# Changelog, October 2025: Ultracite and saner slugs

October replaced ESLint and Prettier with Ultracite, refactored slug handling across documents and improved the redirect flow. Here is why.

Two config files and a plugin zoo is a lot of ceremony for formatting code. October cut it down.

## One tool for linting and formatting

The repo moved to Ultracite and dropped ESLint and Prettier. One fast tool, one config, fewer arguments about which plugin owns which rule.

## Slugs handled the same way everywhere

Slug handling was refactored across document schemas, and schema definitions were tidied alongside further redirect improvements. Consistent slugs mean consistent URLs, which means fewer redirects to manage in the first place.

## Easier seeding

The seed data instructions were updated, so getting demo content into a fresh project is quicker.

Fewer tools, fewer configs, fewer ways for them to disagree.
